The Bernese Award for Environmental Research, granted every two years, aims to promote disciplinary and interdisciplinary research in environmental sciences and sustainability at the University of Bern. Recipients are recognized for outstanding scientific research that makes a relevant contribution to society, or lays the foundations for a better understanding of environmental and sustainability problems and their solutions, as well as impulses for practice.

In 2023 the prize will be granted for the 14th time. The University of Bern is grateful for financial support for the award from CSL Behring AG and Energie Wasser Bern. The prize money totals CHF 15,000.
